Denver DataMan uses technology all the time but what do we really Love? If you haven't already, check out these, the top 10 technologies that we love - we think you will too!
1. Google Maps
Now not only can you find directions to and from a place; you also know what that place looks like before you get there. Here is the link to Google's new experimental features.
2. FaceBook
FaceBook is the leader in blurring the lines between social and business online networking. Some see this as a bad thing but because of FaceBook's innovations and creativity, we see this style is driving innovation in business and making businesses more approachable. There other social networks out there but Facebook is leading the pack and appears that it will maintain this dominance for quite some time.
3. Google Voice
Google Voice is an emerging technology from Google for phone management. We like these features: transcribed messages, rules for forwarding, like forwarding to one number during business hours and another during off hours.
4. Carbonite
Your important businesses files, personal files, pictures, and everything else is on your computer. Carbonite is an easy, secure and inexpensive way to store your files online as a backup in case your hard drive dies.
5. Ready Talk
Denver DataMan looked high and low for a great screen sharing and remote control service. We found Ready Talk and we love it! We use this tool to better serve our growing number of clients outside of Denver. This tool makes it fast and easy.
6. Google Analytics
Finding out how, when and who is using your website is critical for creating a web presence. Google Analytics is FREE and has tools that rival any of the paid services.
7. Twitter Tools
Twitter is very hard if not impossible to use if you do not combine it with other tools . Here are a few we love. Tweetdeck makes displays columns out of all of the information you are looking to follow. Hootsuite lets us set the time messages get sent in the future. Tweetdeck and Hootsuite now work with Facebook and LinkedIn too.
8. Meetup.com
Looking for a group of people who like Underwater Hockey in Denver? if so Meetup.com is the place for you. If you’re looking for something practical like Social Marketing for Business Meetup is also the place for you. Denver/Boulder is one of Meetups largest markets and the South Metro Chamber is one of the largest users in this market. This is the bridge between meeting people online and meeting people in the real world.
9. Prospector
I love books, I love Audio books too and sometimes local libraries don’t have everything I want but 9.5 out of 10 times a library in the State of Colorado does. Using Prospoks checkout directly with my account with Arapahoe Public Library! Now that is data integration.
10. Drupal
We had to add something from the tech world once on this list. Drupal is the tool that we use for building websites and online applications and we love it! This tool lets us build very cool things for our clients at a much lower cost than we could without Drupal. Unless you are a developer don't try this at home.
Drupal
A Content Management System (CMS) and web application framework that provides a powerful platform for managing web based content and creating applications for the Internet. You can find out more about Drupal on the Drupal.org website.
