Creating Yummy Google Food

At first glance it might sound silly to talk about Google food but the thing is that words on a website are nothing less than Google food. When there is text available on the Internet (Google and other search engines) eat up or index the content so it can be searched. Search engines work by finding text on websites that can be indexed and then searched by Internet users.

The most important thing to remember when we talk about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is that at this point search engines cannot index images, video or audio files. This means that we need to add text to pages that we want to be found by search engines. This also means we have at least two audiences for each website. We have humans who want pictures and videos while simultaneously we have bots that search engines use to read your site.

It is important to find a balance. We don’t want to make a site that is just designed for Google to eat and we don’t want to make a page that does not take into account the need for there to be text that Google can eat up. I like to think of blogs as high carb Google food. Your blog has lots of text that covers content that your company is about. Google can easily eat it and store it for later. This makes blogs that are done properly one of the best tools available for search engine optimization.

When creating yummy Google food, or optimized content, remember that you need to have a site that has been optimized for being found on the Internet. You can post all the content in the world (please don’t) but it wont get you discovered if your site has not been created so that Google and others can read and make sense of it.

GoogleFood vindt binnenkort jouw gerecht.
