Microsoft Office Training

Many clients come to Denver DataMan looking to learn more about how to use Microsoft Office. Denver DataMan provides training for beginners as well as advanced users trying to focus on more specific skills.

We often provide training on topics such as:

  • Word Formatting (margins, footnotes, indexes, images)
  • Mail merge
  • Excel formulas and graphing
  • Using Outlook
  • Sharing calendars, contacts and tasks
  • Using and administrating Access databases

Social Networking and Email Marketing Training

Julie GellerJulie Geller is a folk singer who is trying to spread the word about her shows and her CD. She is doing so with the power of the Internet. Denver DataMan has been advising Julie about what tricks she should use to drive traffic, build a fan base, and get people to come to her shows. Julie is using MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and Constant Contact email marketing.

Office 2007 Transition Training

Switching to Office 2007 can be a scary thought for users who are already comfortable with previous Microsoft Office software. The layout looks different and the tools are in different places. When Walsh Environmental Scientists and Engineers , LLC (Boulder, CO) wanted to transition to the new software, Denver DataMan was brought in to train a group of users who would be at the front of the change. The training covered many of the major interface changes to the application as well as changes to specific features that the users would be using.

Denver DataMan has also worked one-on-one with a Walsh user on Office 2007 to help make the transition smooth and leverage the productivity enhancements in the application.

 

Job Readiness

Today employers want employees with rising levels of skills. Denver DataMan has helped several clients to be ready for their new job with the training they need to pass computer proficiency exams or just to feel like they have the right skills. Employers no longer see training in common software as part of their mandate when brining someone new into the team.

We are currently working with the Arapahoe/Douglas Workforce Centers to provide training to their clients.

One client for example was told that she needed to be able to write letters in Microsoft Word, mange lists in Excel and create PowerPoints. We took each of these skills and trained on them and then she practiced each skill with appropriate content.

Business Contact Manager for Outlook Training

When VIP Exhibits transitioned to Microsoft Business Contact Manager for Outlook representatives had Denver DataMan come in to not only train them on how to use Business Contact Manager but also to help them focus their transition from using Outlook and a card file to a full featured CRM. Denver DataMan's training helped them to connect Business Contact Manager with the rest of the Outlook product to make their CRM solution flow with their overall calendaring and business processes.

Drupal Training

When TransMagic Inc., a software company headquartered in Westminster Colorado, decided to transition their website to Drupal, they contacted Denver DataMan to introduce them to this open source project. Denver DataMan helped with an executive overview of the product, general staff training, and a technical introduction to the system.
