The Colorado Cross Disability Coalition (CCDC) redesigned website was built with accessibility at its core. The site is built so that any user of the site will have a great visit regardless of any limitations they might have in viewing the site. The site also takes into account the many specialized formats that CCDC has for the content it creates, for example cases, press releases, media coverage and others. The site also provides CCDC with the ability to gain more memberships and donations with ecommerce functionality as well as the ability to accept payments for event registrations.

Columbine Design

Columbine Design Screen Shot

Denver DataMan was commissioned for a technical redesign of the Columbine Design website. Columbine Design recognized that in order to be able to manage new content and to be found on the Internet they needed a system that would let them be in control of their content without having to pay for changes to be made to their site.

The greatest challenge of this project was taking a theme that Columbine Design loved and making it usable for the new dynamic tool that they needed. There were many challenging graphical elements that we needed to incorporate. The final project however, challenges conventional wisdom about what can be done at a reasonable cost with using Flash.

In order to help Columbine to achieve their goal of being ranked well on Google we did search engine optimization research to identify the ways that people search for landscape design and gardening services. With the knowledge we gained from this research we were able to implement a site structure that will help them best be found on the Internet.

Butterfly Park Educational Materials

Butterfly Park Educational Materials Screen Shot

Butterfly Park Educational Materials has a wonderful system for teaching students about phonemic awareness and reading. They wanted their design to match the design of their materials while conveying a professional image for their buyers which include teachers, schools, and parents. The site needed to be able to manage the sale of products of various types, link to resources and allow them to blog.

Using our content management system we were able to make it so that all of the content on the site flows well with the other content. The store is not its own entity; it’s just more content that someone has the opportunity to buy. This means that samples and information request forms can be linked with products making for a more natural sales cycle.

Many of BPE’s sales are to tax exempt organizations so the site was built to adapt to this and other needs that relate to the organizations that BPE sells to.

Recognizing that teachers often cannot purchase all of the supplies they want and PTA’s often make wish lists we added prominent wish list functionality to the site.

This site has been built to be search engine optimized and to take into account needs for future growth.

Sensitive Sam

The Sensitive Sam website was designed to help Marla Roth-Fisch to promote her book Sensitive Sam.
“Sensitive Sam is a real-life story of challenges and successes related to one special young boy with Sensory Processing Disorder. It is a caring story told in rhyme from a child’s perspective, warm, vibrant watercolor illustrations and a bright cheerful ending.”
The website is built so that Marla can add content and arrange it dynamically without needing to know how to use any code. One of the special features about the site is that the order of all content is dragable, meaning that she can move the items around on the screen hit save and it will be updated for users to see.
Marla is the author and illustrator for Sensitive Sam and provided the graphics for the header and other images that Chad Reiling masterfully put together. Pixel Apropos created the theme for the site.

Smoke-Free Gaming is an advocacy organization for gaming employees and patrons in support of smoke-free casino environments. We provide outreach and education on the health impacts of secondhand smoke exposure.

Their site provides them with the ability to share news, stories and interact with their supporters. A special feature of the site is the ability to put together their eNewsletter. The site then provides them with the content ready to be copied and pasted into Constant Contact for their email version.

Denver DataMan partnered with Cuttlefish Arts on this. Cuttlefish Arts did all the graphics and the DDM put it all together and made it work.

Limmud Colorado

Limmud Colorado Screen Shot

Denver DataMan was engaged to develop the website for Limmud Colorado, a nonprofit that offers educational programs for the Colorado Jewish community. Key requirements included the ability for multiple users to edit content, a blog, a photo gallery, sharing with social networks and multi-lingual support. The site also needed to connect with Master Agenda and an event registration service.

Denver DataMan worked closely with the Limmud Steering team to target the needs of the site and develop a site that would match the culture of the organization and the needs of their visitors. This incorporated conversations before development as well as post-development surveys that included questions asking “can you find each feature on the site.” Changes were made based on the feedback provided, giving the site a very polished end user interface.
